The route at a glance
Combine an imperial Beijing landmark with a Great Wall walk later in the day. It is intended for visitors who want city history and a ridge-line finale in one private itinerary.
Operated by Great Wall Adventure Club. This route is presented as part of China Travel Collection’s specialist Great Wall selection.
Walking level & suitability
This is a long travel day with less hiking time than a dedicated trek. Museum tickets and Wall closing times must be aligned.
Detailed itinerary
Meet your guide and visit the Forbidden City, or the Summer Palace if that is the confirmed choice.
Eat in the city, then drive northeast toward Jinshanling.
Climb onto the Wall and begin a shorter late-afternoon walk.
Explore the Jinshanling towers toward the West Simatai side as time allows.
Leave at the agreed gate within the operating window.
Return to Beijing after the combined city-and-Wall day.
Plan the practical details
Confirm the exact walking start and finish, hotel pickup or meeting point, return arrangement and guide language. Road transfers, station connections and access options should be spelled out in the final proposal.
Arrange storage for your main luggage with the route team. Carry a small daypack with water, suitable layers and personal essentials. Confirm whether bags travel by vehicle between overnight stops.
